Two other teenage girls, one a student at the same Sydney school, have been charged over the fight yesterday.

The 17-year-old girl was stabbed near Bonnyrigg High School in Sydney’s west.

It is believed the fight occurred at a petrol station across the road from the school.

Police said they arrived about 3.30pm (AEDT) after reports of a fight between a number of girls.

The victim had been stabbed a number of times in the chest.

She had surgery at Liverpool Hospital where she remains in a critical condition.

Police searched a house in Green Valley last night and arrested a 16-year-old girl and a 19-year-old woman.

The 19-year-old was charged with wounding a person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and affray.

She will appear in Liverpool Local Court today.

The 16-year-old was charged with being armed with intent to commit an indictable offence and affray.

She will appear in Campbelltown Children's Court on April 21.

The NSW Education Department said students would be offered counselling.
